-untitled-

Yet another composition without an apt title...

Here I am
‘Neath the dark expanse of the universe
Sparsely studded with twinkling diamonds
As the Northern Light unfurls in the night skies
So is my memory as it unfolds before my eyes

Not long ago on a similar plain
Two souls were seen laughing as they ran
Sharing and reaping the rewards of life
Facing and experiencing, too, the cruelty of life

Up the highlands and down the valley
Spending hours together on the prairie
Talking, laughing and sometimes arguing
Till the sun sets late in the evening

Off they go exploring the landscape
On an ever-faithful beast till late
Although a goodbye at the end of the day
Never a sorrow as they’ll meet some other day

Come fall, winter, spring and summer
In a jiffy it’s already a year
Still they hold each other dear
Not knowing that the end is near

Came the blizzard in the winter
Swept them apart none the gentler
Off they go in different directions
Taking along sweet memories and quiet emotions

Here I am
Beholding as the aurora fades away
Into the orange hue of dawn
As the sun sets to rise in the horizon
Yet I’m still deluged by nostalgia in my mind’s thoroughfare

O, how beautiful as the eye of heaven opens
Bringing life to the otherwise sleepy land
For another new day returns
And beckons me to complete the tasks at hand
